ABOUT ME

Born in the Rockies of Colorado and raised on a ranch with horses, cattle, sheep (mixed with a wild animal or two like deer, elk, raccoons and yes even a bear cub or two), I thrived but knew to get my work out I needed to be where the work was and where people could see it. My first introduction to music was through my grandmother who purchased and had made my first Violin at age 4. I graduated from that to playing everything from the oboe up through the saxophone, piano, and electric/upright bass. Now, I love folkloric drum and play that as often as I can. I was short round little girl so my love for dance was not as a ballerina or a gymnist, but soon became very good at Raqs Sharqi (aka belly dance). Work keeps me tied to either a computer or my easel at times, but I dance when I can.

I am an animal lover with a love for all types. At anyone time you can find arachnids, rodents, lizards, birds, k9's and felines in my home all living very well and sometime even eating better than the starving artist.

I have been with my husband 19 years this year and we are very happy and making do with what we have just like everyone else in these hard times.

I welcome commissioned work and have painted everything from murals to flutes for performers and stores here in town. Subject matter can be anything from fantasy to folkloric and have even been asked to decorate a cake or two in my time.

I am also a well known Henna Artist here locally and have traveled the West Coast over many years teaching and publishing my knowledge of the art form and providing those with a historical education of it and even sharing the passion of it.

Between teaching, creating, loving and enduring, I have come far, but hope to go even further as time progresses!

On another subject; One of my first dates with my wife we went with a group to a place in San Fracisco; the enterainment was a belly dancer. She got all the men up in a line doing the belly dance. THAT IS HARD WORK!

You are most welcome! I was just looking at the impressionistic portrait done on my dog, and was thinking of you. Art is everywhere, and I admire those that are able to step out of themselves, or deep within, and create something in 3D for the rest of us.
