I grew up in England but moved to the USA with my husband and two beautiful daughters, Michelle and Leonie. We lived in Michigan for many years where my husband was employed by the auto industry. We moved to Minnesota where we spent ten years and then to beautiful Oregon where I still live.
One of the main themes running through my life has been the desire to use what I have learned to aid others. I know I got this trait from my father, Fredrick Gardner, a wonderful and talented human being who left this world far too soon. From him I learned compassion, respect and the ability to see the Immortal Essence in every human being.
During my years in England I was a teacher for the National Childbirth Trust, encouraging natural home birth. After moving to the USA, I became connected with other things as my daughters grew. I was a Girl Scout leader and became an adult trainer. After moving to Minnesota, I began home schooling my daughters and developed a state-wide inclusive home school network - Minnesota Homeschoolers Alliance - which is still running after 22 years. I produced a small newsletter, organized a home school conference, where I was a speaker. I coached parents in many aspects of home education, and also wrote a number of articles and booklets on homeschooling.
I am incredibly proud of my daughters; Michelle is an outstanding photographer,
please visit her website. and Leonie is a skilled dental assistant.
After moving to Oregon and sadly getting a divorce, I was a speaker for a local shelter for abused women. Abuse has always been a big issue for me, so at the same time I started a rescue for abandoned cats. At one time I had over 60 cats looking to me for care. No, I do not have them all in my house! They have an expensive and rather luxurious house with covered runs in the back yard.
After my divorce I started my own business, Angels on Wheels LLC dealing with the care of people who are terminally ill. In the 90's my adoptive sister became entangled with drugs, both meth and marijuana. I learned first hand how dreadfully destructive these drugs can be and also found out that there was little actual support for the families of addicts. Thus I changed the focus of my business to information and support for families who are going through the horror of a drug-addicted family member.
I am currently offering coaching for families and am also working on a book geared towards those communities who want to face the havoc that drug abuse causes, and understand how to deal with it in a proactive way.
