Welcome to my page! My name is Jenny and I am a teacher, a student, a wife, a mother, a friend and a spiritual being.

Being a teacher was about all I ever wanted to be when I grew up. When I was 15 I was introduced to one of the first personal computers - A RadioShack TRS-80 and I fell in love. In college I majored in Math and Spanish. If my father had let me take two more courses it would have been a triple major with Computer Science.

Out of college I went to work for a textile company as an industrial engineer. While I was there I learned to use Lotus 1-2-3 and started teaching the others in my office what I was learning. When I moved to Texas I landed a job teaching people to use computers at a computer store. I had finally found my calling! I have been teaching adults to use computers for over 20 years.

I started developing online classes 8 years ago while I was working at my local community college. At first I struggled with how to take what I did in the classroom and put that online. I took some courses in instructional design and found the piece I was missing. Three years later I earned my master's degree in Instructional Design for Online Learning.

I got tired of hearing from people that learning online was not right for them. With the number of courses available and the convenience of learning anytime and anywhere, it seems a shame to discount such a readily available way of learning new skills.

Since I had an interest in Learning Styles and the ways people learn I worked to develop an instructional design strategy that incorporated activities that would appeal to and support a variety of learning styles.

When a student uses their preferrred learning style it is easy for them to learn something new. When they also use their non-preferred learning styles then they strenghten their knowledge of the subject.

Anyone can learn online with the right knowledge and support.
