After a brief stint at Art Center College and UCLA I dropped out of school to take advantage of my skills as a commercial photographer working with a Top-Secret clearance in the NASA space program for such sub contractors as, Litton Industries, RCA, Hughes Research Labs and Packard Bell.
This led to a 20 year career in commercial printing ending with more than 8 years as a regional sales manager for two major West coast printers.
After my own unfortunate experience with a major publisher my wife Anita and I began GM Books in 1985 to specialize in Self Publishing. We offer a hand in the dark to first time authors and an alternative to rejection letters.
Since 1985, we have produced and published over 130 titles including Witness to War for the Los Angeles Times which won a Pulitzer. We were involved in 4 titles which each sold over one million copies...The 1984 Los Angeles Summer Games for Atlantic Richfield, The 1988 Winter Gamers for ABC Sports, Understanding Money and Markets for the Wall Street Journal and Investing in the 90's for Fortune Magazine.
As the author of 5 books on Balkan history and music, including the 1992 book, Kosovo, my work has published in The Wall Street Journal, Arizona Republic, The Washington Times and International Herald Tribune among others, with guest appearances on more than 200 radio programs and a number of television appearances as an expert on Balkan history during the recent Civil Wars in Bosnia and Kosovo.
My current book is, Defeat Foreclosure, a book written to help homeowners save their house, their credit and defend themselves against fraudulent foreclosure schemes. My newest book to publish in October, 2008 is, The Nursing Home Crisis to share my own family experience with placing a loved one in a nursing home.
