Learning new things, peace and serenity, spending time with family, a clean house, sunny days with temps in the 80's, cheesecake with strawberries on top, flowers I can plant in my garden rather than cut flowers that die in a week, peacefully sleeping children, soft pillows, a good book, pulling in a big fish, watching birds visit my feeders, hearing from long lost friends, the smell of fresh sage.

Pushy salespeople, unsolicited telephone calls (more pushy salespeople), people who are totally self-absorbed and don't even know it, smog, houses placed too close together, dogs with no leash, undercooked steak, overcooked fish, anything with tapioca or butterscotch, monitors under 19" in size, people who think that talking dirty is cool, high-water bell-bottom pants, a dirty cat litter box.

I am the owner and facilitator of a website called SourceOfGoodStuff.com.

I am a freelance writer, and a lifetime student/learner.

My previous trades include: PC Technician, Decision Support Data Analyst, System Administrator, Software Trainer and
Virtual Administrative Assistant to Executive level clients.

I like organic gardening, growing and using herbs, living in the country, fishing, camping, being in nature. My husband and I raise bees for their honey production and pollination of our trees. We have a pecan orchard and a small fruit orchard with apples, peaches, plums and apricots. We also have a few grape vines and lots of blackberry vines. I am very interested in learning more about renewable energy and energy efficiency.

I also am learning more about self-sufficient living and crisis preparedness - not particularly worried about a nuclear war or full economic collapse, just like the idea of taking care of myself and my family with a certain amount of independence.

I have loved animals all of my life, but strangely have found myself with only 2 cats.. but everyone else's pets stay in my yard, so I guess that's okay. I would someday like to expand our farm and have cows, chickens, a really great DOG and all that fun stuff. I love the solitude of the country.

I like that I can walk outside and not bump into my neighbor's fence without walking for very long distance. I also like the fact that on a windy day, we can actually fly a kite in our yard without tangling in powerlines. Our neighbors are private folks, and we pretty much leave each other alone, but we are also here for each other when need arises. We all keep an eye out for each other's kids and property.

I'm looking forward to finding friends here who can totally relate to what I'm saying, or would like to be experiencing this life for themselves..
