I knew that the Tampa Bay Devil Rays changed their named to Tampa Bay Rays between this and last season, but I just learned yesterday on my way home from work that the Tampa Bay Rays are named after "rays of sunlight", not the "swimming Ray" animal that they had been named after before.
And of course, most of us know that the Tampa Bay Rays are now in the World Series after starting with 10 straight losing seasons.
Now, if God didn't have a hand in the Rays new fortune (and their new name), then I don't know who could have. GO GOD!!! and GO RAYS!!!
P.S. Most of the players that are on the Tampa Bay Rays played in Durham, NC with the Triple AAA Durham Bulls so our family as well as many other people in our area are rooting for the Rays as we feel that we personally know the players.
