The Adventure Continues....at the Tree of Life
Posted On 09/27/2008 21:47:49 by Jaia

If anyone would have told me I would be spending three months out in the high desert in Arizona to apprentice on an organic garden, and that my teenage daughter would agree to do the apprenticeship with me....well, I honestly would have not believed it.  Besides that, I never would have believed I would have traded in our sweet little condo near the beach in Santa Monica last year for a 32ft RV either.  So, here we are out in the desert in our second week in the garden apprenticeship, at a place called the Tree of Life www.treeoflife.nu and already feeling the very deep healing that comes from eating 100% raw foods (for anyone familiar with Gabriel Cousens work- phase I now!) , the desert energy, sacred ceremonies, shabbat, sweat lodges, nightly temple gatherings, and natural healing vortexes on the land.  We are here until December, and I think this may be another book--- not Beyond, Beyond Belief, which it could be called, but a narriative on the adventure of living full time in an RV with your teenage daughter, and the amazing adventures, for better or for worse, we have had.

As a side note, or maybe the main reason I am writing this, who knows really,

If anyone knows anyone who is struggling with type two diabetes, the Tree of Life has a 21 day program which helps people to reverse it.  There is a documentary they filmed here a few years back, where they had six people with diabetes go through the program and now the movie is out www.rawfor30days.com. Beautiful stories of hope and healing and going from what Dr. Cousens calls a culture of death, to a culture of life.  The American Diabetic Association says diabetes is an incurable disease, but the proof is in the pudding as they say. or maybe the proof is in the desert at the Tree of Life. Profound stuff.  My grandmother was one of fifteen children, and thirteen had diabetes.  She did not have it, and my dad didnt have it either, but I have seen how devestating it can be.  It is so beautiful to see people empowered to make choices that change everything for them, and no longer be living at the mercy of a devestating disease.  It is not for everyone, only those who are highly motivated and really, really, ready to change.....

it feels a gift to be spending so much time here with my daugher.  Who knows what Grace has in store for our healing, our connection with the garden and the earth, and our spiritual growth and continuing awakening...

Blessings and Love,  Jaia
