The Audacity of Senator McCain

The Audacity Of Senator McCain

Technorati Profile

The audacity of Senator McCain to literally insult the Intelligence of the American Women with the belief, that he has only to place a woman on his ballot hoping to win the American women. Does he honestly believe that the American women are so shallow, he is sadly mistaken? First he chooses an unknown with no strong political background, one with very little experience, referring to herself only as, "A Soccer Mom." Ms. Palin with her lack of credentials is not and should not be a formable candidate for such position, the second highest office in our nation, "The Vice President of the United States. I honestly thought it was a joke, when it was announced.

I believe this shows simply a desperate move on Senator McCain's part. If he wanted to play such game, he should of been more tactful and chose a woman having much more experienced with foreign policy, one understanding the economy, education and the environmental issues of today, not just a trained dog cued to bite back. Mrs. Palin is in no comparison to the Hillary Clinton or the Margaret Thatchers of this world. Does he really believe, that the women of this country and the people will foolishly base their decision or their vote on, the fact that she is simply a woman, that is simply ludicrous. Moreover based on what we have learned and heard about this nominee, does he really believe, that the women of this country are going to run straight to the poles and vote for Mrs. Palin, because she is a soccer mom! I dare he suggest such, he is wrong for the women of this country will only base such important decision and their vote, on one that is well versed on all the important issues and the problems facing this country. We need a strong viable leader, one that will present the problems and issues, and bring to the table what he or she will do to correct them. Our country after the failed leadership of the past eight years is in dire need of strong leadership, one that will speak for all the American people. A leader that will stand and base their decision making on what is good for the people of America. What possibly could this man be thinking? What poor judgement Senator McCain has shown. Is this the kind of person we want or need to lead our country.

To repeat clearly and state the facts, this woman has no experience at all in foreign policy or experience in dealing with America's failing economy. So little credentials behind her to even to be presented as a formable candidate to run for the office of the Vice President of the United States. As a woman and a person that cares about her country, I find such a move to be one not only unthinkable, but on of sheer desperation. Mr. McCain do not pat you self on the back yet, and do not under estimated the American women, for we have much more intelligence under our cap, then you give us credit for and we will not play your game, we are not that easily sucked in!

The team of McCain and Mrs. Palin, are two of the same little experience and about little change, only a replay of the so called leaders in Washington, that has almost buried this country and its economy. McCain the one stand out quality he possesses is being a past honorable soldier, which is admirable, which we honor all men of this country that has done the same, but does this really qualify him to be The Commander and Chief of this country? He wants to give tax breaks to the rich, he admits knowing or understanding little about our economy. He has nothing to offer, but false promises and the same old failed promises of the last eight years. He should just quit whining about his hardships as a POW; it is embarrassing to other POW like my father, which served in World War 11. My father bravely fought for his country and was taken a POW in Japan, but he doesn't try to use it for a ploy to play games with people or suck them in to his way of thinking. Now let us look at his chosen counterpart he set for the second highest public office in America with no real viable credentials at all. It is almost laughable!

One other very important factor, we all better keep in mind, if these two are elected, and God forbid something happened to Senator McCain, the highest official office in our country would fall in the hands of "Quote" "The Soccer Mom." You think America is ready for this! For today most believe, because of poor leadership and poor judgement, that America has lost her rank in the free world and credibility throughout the globe during the Bush era. This would become the Mother of all Mothers, never mind her not being up to the task; we would become the laughing stock of the world.

This is all part of the Grand Seduction and what happens when a country becomes fragmented from their true inner wisdom and intuition. They will fall for anything. This is the way they want it. Look what happened to the American Indians...It ain't over yet! Everydog has their day...

"A sloppy conviction allows for and easy persuasion!"

No matter whether you are a man or woman, dem or rep...Becoming a strong human being, who happens to resides in America is a good place to start.

Hi Sharon

usually as an outsider looking in, I do not comment on political views expressed by an insider. Whenever in my distant past I did so and happened to express disagreement, I generated animosity towards me. Since you invited me to express my view, here we go:

I agree with you 100%. But strangely, Palin's candidacy gave the Republican ticket an enormous boost, as shown in the most recent polls. Why??? What's wrong with the American voters??? But this is the same question I asked not only when Bush was re-elected, but also when he was elected in the first place! This is the same question I asked when Schwarzenegger was elected Governor of California. Why??? What's wrong with the American voter???

Is it your system that at the conventions puts style way over substance?

Or are you just gullible?

Hi Sharon,

My take on this for what it's worth from over the pond here, is that politics is, as its always been, a game of tactics, fought with platitudes and placations. When we graduate to self 'governing' from a point of global sustainability, then such short term power plays between parties, nations, religions, corporate giants etc will be consigned to the annals of history.

Meanwhile it may be useful to consider such events as elections as puppetry; or small components in a much larger picture?

Hey, Sharonk!

Per you request:

Thank you for asking me to join in. I do not have time to go through all the points or all your blogs, but will share my thoughts on your first comment (The audacity of Senator McCain to literally insult the Intelligence of the American Women with the belief, that he has only to place a woman on his ballot hoping to win the American women. Does he honestly believe that the American women are so shallow, he is sadly mistaken?).

I do not believe Sen. McCain, personally, himself, believes the American Women are shallow. And what's funny is I had this same conversation with a lady friend last week, where she used the same wording as you. Hmmm... Anyway, Once you're at his level, you have a team of advisors. Therefore, I do not believe he personally believes what you are suggesting. It's politics. It's the media. It's the way it is.

However, to bring in a woman with as little political experience as Gov. Palin as far as being able to run our country, it's concerning. But hell, you never know what can happen. Is Sen. Obama qualified in foreign policy? NO. Whomever becomes our President will have experienced, inside advisors. Do you really believe President Bush calls the shot "personally" and is directly responsible for our temporary, economic downturn? No!

I do not believe our figurehead leaders truly run the country. When voting, most, if not all of us, are political whores. We vote for what we feel is best for us as individuals. And sadly, voting for our leaders had come down to simply picking what we as individuals believe or hope, is the lessor of the two evils. That's it!

So, again, I do not believe Sen. McCain thinks you're shallow. But for argument sake, let's say you are 100% correct and it is he, personally, who hand picked Gov. Palin, and for the reason you've suggested. We'll see in November who is correct. If there's the slightest possibility you're correct, I suggest you begin educating others.

Moreover, if you did not believe that Sen. McCain could possibly be correct in what you've suggested, you wouldn't have needed to write what you did. I'm voting for John Assaraf!

Have an awesomely, awesome week!

Nice blog, Sharon.

There are several issues under scrutiny re. Ms. Palin. Ideally, everyone will do their homework before casting the ballot.  Realisitcally, we know too well that people tend to vote party lines and/or emotionally. The women (and men) who see only the "celebrity" woman, a professional, working hockey mom who juggles her career succesfully (although subject to debate) will cast ballots in her favor without regard to the importance and seriousness of her role as vice president of the US.

Alan, I very interested in your statement, I would love to hear more, and if this is a personal opinion or why you feel as you do? Thank you for the nice compliment.

Mark, Most do not questions her having some experience in the political area, but one to hold the next highest office in the United States, with the possiblity something would happen to the President, It would be frightening to see Mrs. Palin become the President of the United States. Look at the handling of her minor personal affairs, and the untruths she told during the convention about her accomplishments, we have enough corruption and lying to America.  I watched these character traits slowly leaking from her own State on the every channel, not only from the news, it has massive coverage on the internet. Not that we can believe everything of our media, but if any possiblity of these traits, she is not ready to be the Vice President of our country, Only my opinion! Maybe someday,,,, We need a strong, honest, uncorrupt individual to lead this country, not one of same of today....

These are debates I stay out of, fortunately our government has checks and balances via three distinct and seperate branches, Presidential, Legislative and Judicial.  It works perfectly.  For that reason I spend zero time arguing the policies or choices of any one aspect of the system.  Our forefathers or forepeople if that is a more correct term, did an outstanding job setting this system up.  It works so I allow it to do so.  I can never know anothers intentions, ever.  So I keep my opinion where it belongs, that is why they have curtains on the voting booths.  Of course there are those that choose to censor they call that the press.  However, they have their agendas as well.

I am proud of the leaders that choose to serve the people (the winners and losers), I would not ever want to be the one doing this!

Enjoy the journey, never take yourself too seriously and know that life is goooood!!!!

Keep smiling...

Dan :)

With the change in politics (where women and minorities are able to become president), any caucasion presidential candidate needs to choose a women or a non-white vice president if they want to win.

I said that a long time ago.   I was hoping that McCain wouldn't choose a white male as his vice president (and he didn't).

Palin actually does have experience (even though people are looking at "number of years as a senator or representative" as their definition of experience, hence why they are saying that she doesn't have experience.
