What a great question, way to focus the answers.  As a nation we do face an interesting dilemma, one that many voters believe comes down to Obama or McCain.  Sadly, or as a safe guard, neither man can accomplish the task of running this country alone.  Although, I am a strongly affiliated with one party, studying and working in the business, yes it is a business; affords me an interesting perspective.  As voters we should be less focused on blaming one party over another and realize that shifts in our countries direction don’t take place in a vacuum, nor overnight.  So whoever is unlucky enough to win this election, must work with the House and Senate to enact legislation to change our course.  Most likely we will see the effects of Bush’s administration begin to take hold six months to a year into Obama/McCain’s presidency, whether good or bad.  One challenge this country faces is the limited understanding of our governing process; which allows people to become passionate only when the situation seems dire, expecting change to happen overnight.  New leadership, new directions take time to implement, especially based on the size of our government; therefore, our newly elected president becomes a sitting duck for the problems already in the pipeline.    Remember we can blame the president all we want, without our involvement as citizens and voters all the time, we have no one else to blame, but ourselves.  Our elected officials work for us and we have no excuse for showing such passion only when the situation is distressing.  Stay involved each and every year, know and understand what your elected officials stand for and ultimately vote on and you will see the power you have to hold them accountable.  We truly do have the power; however, most of us abdicate it to others. My advice, is follow your heart, follow your passion, vote your conscious; most importantly VOTE.
