It's a lifestyle and I'm very unhappy without it but bodybuilding is my only "hobby." Occasionally hiking. I used to be an outdoors fanatic but business picked up and now it's a treat to get a day in the woods.

I almost never have time to watch anymore but here's some faves:

Casino, Blue Velvet, Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, Platoon, Siege at Firebase Gloria, Hamburger Hill, Dr. Caligari, Street Trash, Hard Candy, The Amateurs, Sooper Troopers

Mostly, I like indies, drama, and anything weird and off the beaten track. I like to be surprised by the risks a moviemaker is willing to take.

I'm very fond of anything having to do with "The Hero's Journey." I love anything where it's one man, woman, or group against the world.

I'm a metalhead as far as listening choices but don't live the lifestyle. I only listen when I'm driving or lifting at the gym.

I wrote my own book but one I share with others a lot is "The Da Vinci Method." This book doesn't apply to everyone out there, but if does apply to you, it is like finding a diamond in an ocean of coal.

My book is here: www.ItTakesGutsToBeMe.com

Traveling, meeting new people, making quality friends, the give and take of networking, helping others see a new way to live and watching them bloom. Great books. Any topic, just so long as they're great. I love it when someone else opens MY eyes! The rush of knowing I just changed something about me for the better.

Negative people, folks who blame all on everything but themselves, etc. Ghandi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world." I wish more folks could see the sense in those words.

I am an author and my book can be ordered here, speaker, life coach, and entrepreneur.

I'm an ex-Marine Gulf War vet, ex-addict, ex-drunk, ex-"Angriest Man Alive" world title holder. This all led me to the fantabulous adventure known as bipolar disorder. I suffered in ways that boggle the mind. I fixed myself after it was clear (6 years) that the doctors couldn't. Now I teach this process to others.

I gave too much of my life to the wrong endeavors. I am now hell-bent on giving back to the world in a way that frees others. I dig the crap out of what I do!

So do my wife, and kids! They are the reasons I work as hard as I do to grow both as a businessman and a person.

Hi Ken, thank you so much for your full comment. It is so heartwarming to hear stories such as yours. I must admit ,sometimes when I am checking on my budgets for the next year, and wondering what the future may bring, I feel that maybe I should have stuck at some of the jobs I did. Perhaps I could have been successful financially and set myself up for my retirement instead of needing to carry on working. But then what am I saying? I know I couldn't do that. Like you there are things I have to do and a way of being that gives me life. I believe that one way or another I will be ok in my later life. I will continue to do what feels right and creativity and working with others is what gives me joy. I am blessed with a full relationship my animal friends and my human friends. Thank you for reminding me how rich and successful I am.

We may be in different parts of the world but I feel we are walking a very similar path. If you ever need a hand to climb over a rocky patch or a fallen tree I hope I am around to give you a hand.

Phil

Hey Ken,

Truly great to know you, thanks for being a friend!  I cannot agree with your words enough ... we obviously have traveled similar paths and experienced like awakenings.

I'm thinking we're going to get along famously.   If there's ever anything you think I might be able to help with, don't hesitate to ask.

all my best to you and yours,
Becky

Hi Becky,

I like how you think about thinking. Being aware is a skill everyone needs to improve. It is a big part of what I teach too. Go through life on autopilot and you have to live with the results. Become aware, and you start having the life you should be having.

Too many people assume they already are aware when they really aren't. Their lives don't seem to work out well, are problem filled, or they can't seem to attain what they want. Become truly aware and you'll see how you are causing every single thing in your day to be as it is. Even if someone else's junk is intruding upon your experience, the way you react to it affects you for the worse if you're not aware.

So I dig where you're coming from! Take care,

Ken

Good to meet you buddy!

Ken:

You're a Pisser! You relly don't have to have one set day for your abs. In most exercises your abs are constantly beinig contracted. To get good abs. one needs to burn more calories , eat correctly and hit the whole body!  You can target the abs at the end of the workout if you want. I have plenty more information for you if you need it.  "Train wWth The Ukaraine". Your an ex marine.  I don' think you worked your abs out for one day.  Maybe I'm wrong.  Be good, Joe

My abs are sore today in a way I've not felt since the Marines about 20 years ago. Renegade Rows they call what I did to myself. Balance on a dumbbell with one straight arm, feet wide, do a set of rows with the other arm, switch arms.

The row is inconsequential. The ab workout that takes place to hold your body rigid is absolutely sick!!! I tried them for the first time yesterday and woke up with soreness in my upper abs, practically into my pecs. Obliques too.

I don't like training abs so they get their own day with neck and I like doing holds. Very intense contractions. I also circuit train my abs, with no rest, just to get 'em done faster and make the day more intense. They're the only body part that gets circuit training.

OK. Thanks for bearin' through that. You're a fellow fitness man so I felt like sharing LOL!

Take care,

Ken
