Until I find another quote or excerpt that deeply resonates in my spirit I will be using this perfectly appropos favorite thought,as a comment for all my friends, an excerpt from Daniel C. Matt's "Essential Kabbalah" <bracketed words are my addition>:

People think by finding what is different they will resolve conflict. I am wondering what kind of sense that makes? This occurs in all areas of communication, from a global level right down to the individual. No wonder we cannot get along. We live in a society that never learned how to find what is the same. The conflict is internal and is projected outwards, making it seem like it is coming from someone else. Helping people understand this and introducing the tools that help resolve the internal struggle is very timely and is ultimately the solution.

Thanks for taking the time to comment on my page. Your comment about conflict resolution is very timely. I just came back, late last evening, from a trip to a post-conflict society. The destruction and devastation to both the physical infrastructure and the human psyche is immeasurable. It is also, in many ways, incomprehensible. We need more people in the world who are able and willing to manage all our relationships with one another with great care and empathy.
